INRI (1987) |
| First released in 1987, I.N.R.I. is considered the most polemic Metal album ever released in Brazil. It is also considered a worldwide turning point in Black/Death Metal style. American magazines chose it as one of the Top 10 Black/Death Metal albums of the world.
I.N.R.I. was responsible for the band's success in the world's Metal scene. A measure of this success is the enduring popularity of Sarcófago in the underground scene: they inspired a whole generation of bangers that tried to match their music and their style. Hundreds of bands have recorded their songs, and most versions come from this album. I.N.R.I. is a best seller album until today. |

Rotting (1989) |
In 1989, after I.N.R.I.'s huge repercussion, Sarcófago was already considered one of the top Black/Death Metal bands all over the world. Drummer D. D. Crazy left the band to join Sextrash, and M. Joker took over the drums. After a short tour, the band headed for the studios to record its second album: Rotting.
The album's themes were extremely heavy for that time, and the band can surely be considered one of the predecessors of the whole Black Metal scene still present in the world. In terms of heavy music, it is one of the most polemic albums ever released. The band left an eternal mark with its sound and the most commented cover of the Metal scene.
The LP was licensed to Music for Nations, in Europe, and in the US the cover was censored. Later, the CD was seized by the authorities from European importers and distributors, once again because of its cover. This generated enormous polemic among the Metal scene. The album features "Nightmare", Sarcófago's greatest hymn, and "Sex, Drinks & Metal", a summary of the band's philosophy.

The Laws of the Scourge (1991) |
Released in 1991, this album was another step in Sarcófago's evolution. Valhala, a Metal magazine from Brazil, published this comment on the album:
"The Laws of Scourge, as well as the band's previous albums, I.N.R.I. and Rotting, is another fundamental work, a true landmark for the world Black/Death Metal scene. Considered by some the band's biggest achievement, the album maintains the aggressive and merciless line of the previous works, but still presents a greater and impressive technical achievement, proving that inovation has always been one of Sarcófagos enviable characteristics. Classic songs such as "The Laws of Scourge", "Secrets of a Widow", "Midnight Queen", "Piercings", "Screeches from the Silence" (the video was broadcasted in the Brazilian MTV), and "Prelude to Suicide" were predecessors of the alliance between technique and speed so common in our days.
In other words, the band proved once again that it was always ahead of its time, making The Laws of Scourge an essential album, one of the first technical albums of the Death Metal history, a fact that took the band, a quartet back then, for its first European tour, which put them in a higher level in the world Metal scene. If Wagner Antichrist and Gerald Incubus wanted to explore financially the band, they could be millionaires today". (VM - Valhala Magazine) |

Hate (1994) |
After a succesful tour through Europe in 92, the most controversial band in the Black/Death Metal scene headed to the studios with HATE. Released through Cogumelo Records, Hate is on of the crushier and heavier albums ever releasead in the world Metal history. With a fine production and with musical influences from the I.N.R.I. times, the album reaffirmed their position as one of the most important bands to arise in the Brazilian Metal scene.
It was a polemic album from the start: the band, decided to be the fastest in the world, used only machine drums in the album, making it impossible for any drummer to match. The title track is a Death-core to break any headbanger's head. "Orgy of Flies" is extremely heavy and morbid, with a vague remembrance of "Nightmare", from the album Rotting. "Satanic Terrorism" and "Song for my death" are good examples of the band's aggressiveness and violence. The lyrics show the band's maturity, without losing its raw and original traces in "The God's Faces", "The Phantom" and "Anal Vomit". |

Decade of Decay (1995) |
Few bands are able to endure a 10 year career. Even fewer bands can maintain its ideology and music. And even though they never toured a lot, they still gathered a loyal crowd of fans all over the world. Brutal, considered one of the most bastard bands in the planet, they helped to create the corner-stones of the Death and Black Metal style.
In 1996 Cogumelo Records released a compilation to celebrate a Decade of Decay, including the most important songs of Sarcófago's career, since the first demos. The compilation includes songs that became hymns to the fans, such as "Nightmare", "Midnight Queen" and "Rotting", as well as demo versions for such classics as "Black Vomit" and "Satanic Lust". |

The Worst (1996) |
Released in 1996, it is the band's last full length album so far. Rock Brigade, Brazil's most important metal magazine, commented on the CD:
"There is no way to deny Sarcófago's importance to the Brazilian metal scene. Despite all the discussion, love and hate the band has caused, it has always meant innovation in Brazilian's underground scene. In "The Worst", all the philosophy of the band's career is intact and, most of all, reinforced. Musically, the album has a less radical proposal - and a bit slower - than the one found in their previous work, "Hate". They still use electronic drums, but more efficiently this time, leaving the speed on its own of that play to invest in weight too, though the extreme speed is still present, with similar ability. This way, along with almost doom tracks, such as God Bless The Whores (this title shows that their lyrical proposal is still intact) and the title track, there are others with unbelievable speed, like Plunged in Blood and specially the new version of Satanic Lust. But "The Worst"'s masterpiece is Army of the Damned (The Prozac's Generation) that mixes all the features that have made of Sarcófago the band it is today: weight, speed, polemic lyrics and a nightmare like atmosphere. Maybe the best way to define this album is that it is a synthesis of all their previous works. It is the reassurance of the capacity of one of the few Brazilian bands that are unique and unfashionable". (Ricardo Franzin - Rock Brigade Magazine) |

Crust (2000) |
After four years of silence, the most polemic Black/Death Metal band of the world was back in the year 2000... and ready to attack the so called Black Metal music of our days, played wordlwide by a bunch of people with painted faces, female vocals, keyboards and Alice Cooper like visuals. Nothing to do with the true and original Black Metal: heavy, strong, fast, and without the commercial interest of the big labels.
When the band began its career back in 1985, Sarcófago soon stood out because of its ideals in the compilation "Warfare Noise I" and in the polemic album released in 1987, I.N.R.I.. When they celebrated their 15 years of activity, Sarcófago returned to its origins and released an album which contains four tracks that marks clearly their attitude in the beginning of the new millennium. Many may not like it… but will stare amazed, nevertheless, at the speed of the guitars, the insanity of the vocals and the brutality of the craziest drum machine of the planet!
This is their proposal - a fast, violent, raw, aggressive and CRUST sound. |

Cogumelo Records :: Tribute to Sarcofago (2002) |
| Tribute to Sarcófago is the result of a pioneer contest announced through internet. All participant bands should send a CD with a version of one of Sarcófago's song. We had over 1000 participants from all the corners of the world. It was great to know that so many people wanted to praise Sarcófago, one way or another, but at the same time, it delayed the contest outcome for several months..
All Sarcófago's tracks were put at disposal to be used and turned into new versions. The demos were listened to, one by one, by the Cogumelo staff and Sarcófago. The result could not be different: the cream of extreme metal playing and praising the most brutal and vicious band ever!
